A Multidimensional Approach To Covid-19
Edited by Snehamanju Basu and Gupinath Bhandari
Over the last two years, the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in rapid and all-encompassing change in nearly every sector of human society. From the almost-overnight predominance of online learning to tremendous disruptions in the lives of migrant labourers, from changes in gendered divisions of domestic work to the growth of 'pandemic apparel' such as masks, from the effects of a reduction in human activity on air quality to the epidemic growth of mental health problems among student populations, the effects of COVID-19 have been wide-ranging and pervasive.
This present collection attempts to explore all these changes through a holistic, interdisciplinary lens. The 22 essays in this collection, contributed by students and scholars from a variety of disciplines, attempt to gauge the impact of COVID-19 through case studies and theoretical analyses at the local, national and global levels. Straddling the fields of history, sociology, environmental studies, psychology, gender studies, political science, among others, this volume brings together primary data and attempts to consolidate journalistic and scholarly material from the early phase of the pandemic.
